Supporting ESL

‘Oddizzi is an ideal platform for language learning, it takes English outside of traditional language-learning classrooms and across the curriculum, providing an excellent resource for ESL schools or schools implementing CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) into their classrooms. Oddizzi’s engaging and user-friendly content provides students with the unique opportunity to experience completely different lives through the eyes of their overseas peers, and also to share their own culture and life experiences with an international audience.

Oddizzi is a fun, immersive arena in which to spark students’ interests in life beyond their own borders, providing motivation to use English in an authentic, real-life context. Fuelled by the desire for genuine communication with others, students’ vocabularies expand, as they endeavor to explain and have an understanding of their and others’ surroundings; functional language, such as describing or presenting, is used; speaking and listening skills are practiced. In addition, by sharing experiences, students learn how to interact with others. With English as the tool for communication, young citizens from around the world are brought together, breaking down cultural boundaries and fostering the idea of global citizenship.’

Established in Hong Kong in 1997, Macao in 2001 and Shenzhen in 2003, English for Asia is a teacher-operated organisation committed to providing a wide range of courses and services dedicated to improving standards of English and English teaching in the Asia-Pacific region.
